Stray Cat Alliance is one of the largest cat and kitten advocacy and rescue organizations in the U.S. We have best-practice programs that support companion animals and provide desperately needed resources to underserved communities. Last year, we directly served 3,603 cats and kittens in Southern California and provided tangible resources and support to 4,522 people in support of 20,421 cats and kittens nationwide.

In 2020, the save rate for kittens at Los Angeles Animal Services shelters was almost 94 percent. Since then, we have lost ground, with kitten lifesaving falling to 84 percent in 2022. In 2023, the save rate for kittens has dropped even further, with euthanasia of kittens up 53 percent in 2023. It doesn’t have to be this way.
